How to choose a suitable industrial camera?
Selecting an appropriate industrial camera can refer to the following points:
1.CCD or CMOS camera is selected according to their different applications
The CCD industrial camera is mainly used in the image extraction of moving objects. Of course, with the development of CMOS technology, a lot of chip shooters are also in the use of the CMOS industrial camera. The CCD industrial camera is generally used in the program or industry of visual automatic inspection. The CMOS industrial camera is also widely used because of its low cost and low power consumption.
2.The selection of resolution
The accuracy of the object to be observed or measured is first considered. The resolution is selected according to the accuracy. Camera pixel precision = single direction field of view / camera single direction resolution, so camera single direction resolution= single direction field of view / theoretical precision.
If the single field of view is 5mm long, the theoretical precision is 0.02mm, then the single direction resolution is =5/0.02=250. However, in order to increase the stability of the system, it will not only use one pixel unit to correspond to a measurement / observation accuracy, which can be used to select multiples of 4 or higher. So the camera needs a single direction resolution of 1000 and the use of 1.3 million pixels is enough.
Second, it depends on the output of the industrial camera. If it is observation or machine software analysis and identification, high resolution is helpful. If it is VGA or USB output, it will depend on resolution when observed on the display. It is of no significance when the resolution of the industrial camera is high but the display resolution is not enough. Using a memory card or camera, the industrial camera of high resolution is also helpful.
3.The selection of frames
The camera of High resolution is selected when there is a demand of sport of the measured object. But in general, the higher the resolution is, the lower the number of frames is.
4.Match with lens
Sensor chip size needs to be smaller than or equal to the lens size. C or CS installation seat also needs to match with the camera.
