Machine vision imaging utilize polarizing film to improve image quality

During the inspection, it uses automatics, so image becomes to the most critical step. Utilizing polarizing film can greatly improve image quality in some situations to achieve the purpose of inspection.
With the development of industrial automation, the automation technology of our country has increasingly been mature. More and more industries have been changed the production models from traditionally to automatically. Such as electron industry, food industry, and pharmaceuticals industry, etc.
In the traditional industry, human eye detection is the main method to detect products, by which people inspect product appearance and judge the non-defective/defective products according to their experience and then distinguish their quality. Automation industry utilizes machine vision imaging and compare the images by software then use PLC control Robot to classify the products. During the automatic inspection, image is the most critical step.
In the process of imaging and for us to get high-uniformity and high-contrast images, when vision imaging, we will polish by machine vision lights so as to get the images which can be processed by software expediently. The appropriate light can help to get a good image easily in general case but sometimes it is hard because of the special material of products.
For example, when light illuminates on the smooth non-metallic surface, it will reflect to be glare in some angle, which is polarized light. But it is harmful in many polarized light imaging, we can’t see the images clearly. The filter that can filtering the polarized light is called polarizer. The common polarizer is called linear polarizing filter (PL filter). Install the polarizer in front of the filter and rotate polarizer carefully to make the harmful glare decreased and even disappear. In this way, we will shoot the image without glare.
